Media and Fabrics

Felt or mesh bag — which do I need?
Felt is a depth medium: it traps particles through the fabric and holds more dirt, which suits 1-100 µm liquid duty. Mesh is a surface medium: it filters at the weave, flows higher and backflushes clean for reuse. Pick felt for dirt-holding, mesh for flow.
Which bag material handles my liquid?
Polypropylene suits most water and chemical duty up to about 90°C. Polyester handles higher temperatures and some solvents, nylon covers aggressive chemicals, and PTFE or specialty fabrics cover extreme service. Send the fluid and temperature — we confirm the fabric.
Sewn or welded bags — what is the difference?
Sewn bags are stitched through the fabric, so the needle holes allow a small bypass at the seam. Welded bags fuse the fabric with no stitch holes, which raises burst strength and stops bypass — the standard choice for food, pharma and critical processes.
What micron rating should I choose?
Match the rating to the particles you must remove. Fine finishing runs 1-5 µm, general liquid filtration 10-25 µm, and coarse or high-flow service 50-200 µm. Sample testing confirms the rating on your actual feed.
Bag filter or cartridge filter — when do I switch?
Bags win at high flow and coarse duty: lower element cost, faster changeout, less waste. Cartridges win where you need fine polishing below about 1 µm or maximum media area in a small housing. The crossover point depends on your flow and target micron.
Can I test a sample bag in my housing?
Yes, single-bag samples are standard. Run the sample in your housing and compare differential pressure and filtrate quality against your current bag. The sample ships with the same fabric, seam and ring as production.
Do you provide test certificates?
Yes. Every lot ships with a per-lot inspection report covering dimensions, seam and ring integrity, and fabric weight. Burst and seam strength data are available on request for batch verification.
Can you make custom sizes or private-label bags?
Yes. Custom diameters, lengths, rings and fabrics are standard production. Private-label packaging and part numbering are available for distributors — your brand on the bag, our QC behind it.
