Pleated Filter Cartridges
Pleated filter cartridges with up to 4x more filtration area than depth media of the same size — lower pressure drop, longer service life and higher flow. Polypropylene, polyester and stainless steel mesh pleated cartridges from 0.1 to 100 micron, factory-direct from PLEATPURE.

Why Pleated Filter Cartridges
Pleated filter cartridges with up to 4x more filtration area than depth media of the same size — lower pressure drop, longer service life and higher flow. Polypropylene, polyester and stainless steel mesh pleated cartridges from 0.1 to 100 micron, factory-direct from PLEATPURE.
- Pleated polypropylene cartridges from 0.1 to 100 micron — low pressure drop and long runs on water, chemicals and food processing
- Up to 4x the filtration area of a string-wound cartridge in the same 10" x 2.5" envelope — more flow at the same micron rating
- Pleated polyester media for solvent and chemical duty where polypropylene is not suitable
- Pleated stainless steel mesh cartridges — cleanable, reusable, for coarse protection and high-temperature duty
- Standard sizes: 10" x 2.5", 20" x 2.5", 40" x 2.5", 9-3/4" and 10" lengths, plus custom lengths and end caps
- Options: grooved cores, bonded end caps, gaskets (Buna-N, EPDM, Viton, silicone), FDA-compliant media for food and beverage
- Pleated dust collector cartridges in polyester, PTFE and nano-coated media for pulse-jet systems
- Change on pressure drop: 10 to 15 psi above clean reading, or the schedule, whichever comes first

FAQ
Questions Buyers Ask
What is a pleated filter cartridge?
A pleated filter cartridge is a filter element whose media is folded into pleats, packing up to 4x more surface area into the same cartridge envelope as flat or depth media. More area means lower pressure drop, higher flow and longer service life for the same micron rating.
Pleated or depth (string-wound) cartridge?
Pleated cartridges win on flow, pressure drop and service life — they suit moderate to light loads and clean process liquids. Depth (string-wound) cartridges store more dirt through the wall and suit heavy sediment loads. A common train: depth first for bulk dirt, pleated second for fine polishing.
What micron ratings are available?
Pleated polypropylene cartridges are typically available from 0.1 to 100 micron. Common industrial picks: 1 micron for fine polishing, 5 micron for RO pre-filtration and general water, 10 micron for process duty, 20 to 50 micron for coarse protection.
What media can be pleated?
Polypropylene (general water and chemical duty), polyester (solvents, oils and higher temperature), nylon, PTFE (aggressive chemicals) and stainless steel mesh (cleanable, reusable, high temperature). Pleated media can also carry a melt-blown or nanofiber layer for finer filtration.
Are pleated cartridges cleanable and reusable?
Pleated stainless steel mesh cartridges can be rinsed and reused. Pleated disposable cartridges (polypropylene, polyester) should be replaced when loaded — backwashing a fine pleated cartridge rarely restores performance and can push captured contamination deeper into the media.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Standard pleated cartridges ship from stock with a small MOQ. Custom micron ratings, media, end caps and gaskets are made to order, typically 2 to 4 weeks depending on quantity.
Do pleated cartridges fit standard housings?
Yes — the 10" x 2.5" double-open-end cartridge is the global standard and fits most cartridge housings. We also make 20", 30" and 40" lengths, and custom cartridges to your housing drawing or sample element.
